About

REAP Aotearoa New Zealand is the peak body representing these 13 self-directed organisations, and our focus is on providing leadership, support and guidance.

We also connect with Ministers and other central government officials to promote the work of REAPs, to advocate for the unique needs of rural communities, and to encourage community-led development as the most sustainable and effective approach to progress. REAP Aotearoa also holds the national funding contracts with government agencies on behalf of the REAP sector.

REAPs all work collaboratively with local partners, including councils, education providers, iwi and hapu. Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi is core to how REAP Aotearoa approaches its work; our Hauhake caucus provides national guidance on input from Māori about Māori in a partnership context of educational success. REAP Aotearoa: Developing rural communities through quality lifelong learning.
