GOOD YOUTH EMPLOYER PROJECT
The Good Youth Employer framework for Māori and Pasifika youth was developed in 2022-23 by Tātaki Auckland Unlimited in collaboration with organisations, including the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs, and representatives from industry, including The Warehouse and Kiwi Rail. YEA is using the framework to help inform a good youth employer interactive resource.
YEA will expand upon the existing framework to create a framework that will speak to the needs of Māori and Pasifika youth, as well as neurodiverse and disabled youth, NEETs, and other youth. The framework will be housed on our website as an open resource.
The intention is to create a resource based on universal design principals and we have invited a number of individuals and organisations to join working groups to ensure this is a truly collaborative exercise. Our working groups include Māori, Pasifika, neurodiverse, disabled, industry, and industry-training.
Thinkplace, who worked with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited on the original project, are the design leads.
To ensure youth voice is across this mahi, we have two Youth Leads, Meg Lyster and Holly Duff, who will lead the consultation with youth.
The resource will be freely available and before it is launched, we will pilot the product with employers and young employees.
If your organisation or business would like to test our resource, please sign up below.
