The Architect of my Future

What does the future of Aotearoa’s workforce in 2040 look like?

Exploring the future of work in Aotearoa, our collaborative project with Ohu Ahumahi and Tokona te Raki delves into vital questions about workforce transformations and their impact on vocational education. Departing from traditional methods, we craft alternative future narratives, recognising the complex interplay of societal, economic, technological, and environmental changes.

Challenges such as automation, demographic shifts, and climate change demand proactive measures. Our project emphasises equipping individuals with the skills to navigate these changes successfully. We engage rangatahi voices, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and adaptability for a workforce that reflects Aotearoa’s diversity.

Analysing disruptive weather events, digital disruption, and demographic shifts provide insight for decision-makers. Addressing disparities, especially for Māori individuals, is crucial. Our recommendations for a radical change future focus on inclusive vocational education and holistic support.

In conclusion, we envision a resilient and adaptable Aotearoa workforce by embracing innovation, inclusivity, and the strengths of rangatahi and Māori. Together, we can navigate the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
